Lapalux . Some Other Time EP
This EP shows an improvement in his skills. He always mixed a lot of different sounds and textures, that sometimes could sound a little weird, but this time everything works so well together. There are so many textures running through all the album, the bells, the xylophone, the birds, the vocals, the synths.. all this makes this album sound really coherent, the tunes really work one after the other.
My focus goes to Forgetting and Learning Again... my favortie tune from the album. The sweet and lovely vocals of Kerry Leatham shows the R&B influences in the tune and his position in the new electronic music scene. The EP ends with Close Call / Chop Cuts, a lovely ending tune that reveals what Lapalux is all about.
In the meantime, this friday (19) he's coming to lisbon to MusicboxLisboa and he will be showing this new ep for the first time in Europe! If you're near make sure you won't miss it!
